hey girl. We just had tacos. . .I mixed in chorizo with the beef. Spicy goodness. Had some wine with it. Bought the kitty a new toy today. She loved it. LP is out and about. BP is watching some Will Smith movie. I'm contemplating a shower soon. What's new witchu?

Tacos sounds good. Our store has started selling these hybrid corn/flour tortillas. Very good with some lime-marinated chicken and black beans and onion. You just gave me a menu item for this week's dinner.

Urb, I've been keeping pretty busing taking a short story writing class and working with a publisher on some new regional books coming out. We're having an extended fall; it's still in the 80s. Wondering when the first frost will come. What are you up to?

Things are interesting. Work's been kind of sucky since we merged. There are things I love about it -- my bosses; and things I hate about it -- the CEO and CTO who are misogynistic jerks who struggle with me being a woman who speaks her mind. Whatevah!

Home's good. NG and I got married a few months ago, on a whim, so life's good on that front. Having lots of fun and enjoying each other.

A corn/flour hybrid, huh? That sounds good, actually. Do they have the consistency more of flour or corn?

I bet chorizo in the taco meat was good, never thought of that. I'll have to try that.

You mention that you got married, like you'd mention that you bought a new pair of shoes! Give us details!

I'm in a really contented place these days, which probably explains my not posting much, haha. (I think discontent drives me to the Interwebz....)

I hit my goal weight this week, lowest I've been in about 20 years. Both kids like their jobs, Dave reasonably content with his, my choirs are going extremely well, I'm loving the Master Chorale I'm singing with, just feeling pretty happy. God, I hope I didn't just jinx myself...

Urb, congratulations on your impetuous wedding! Happy days for you both ahead.

Verb, it's good to be content. If my daughter could get a job, that would be a step in the right direction. Well, she decided yesterday she should learn Spanish, so I'm okay with that.

Oh, on the tortillas, they are more flour than corn, but there's a definite mealy consistency too. Pretty good.

@Schell - It's funny, not a whole lot to tell. One Saturday morning and were lying in bed waking up and I said, "What do you feel like doing this weekend?" and he said, "I want to marry you."

I laughed and said something along the lines of, "Uh huh . . . seriously, what do you feel like doing?" and he said, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

I laughed again and we got up and headed out to run some errands and he brought it up again, said he was serious and that if I said yes, he would fly us to Vegas that day to get married.

We talked about it, here and there, throughout the morning and I started thinking about it and realized I had never been with someone that I was so compatible with or so crazy about.

So, I started thinking seriously about it and I asked if he was serious, he said yes. Then he asked me to marry him and . . . before I could think about it I said yes.

Then we decided that it was faster and closer to just drive to Reno so we drove up with what we had on and got married in this little quickee wedding place but it wasn't cheesy. It was run by these two women who were very sweet and nice and we both loved the vows that the woman used when she married us.

We stayed the night at one of the big casinos there and drove home the next day.

@Sonya -- Thanks! :) Funny, I never actually envisioned myself getting married but it's been great so far.

@Verb -- Nice to hear everything is going well for you. It's funny how that works. I do the same thing, when everything's great on all fronts I'm almost afraid to say it or think about it cuz I think it'll jinx it.

I'm a superstitous atheist. Go figure.

That seems to me to be the very best way to get married.

Congratulations, Urb! I hope you both enjoy your lives together!
Verb-I'm a little jealous of your contentedness. I'm not sure I have ever felt that.

Urban!! Congratulations!!! Much happiness to you!

Congrats, Urbie!

Thanks, all. So far, so very good. I always figured if I ever got married it would have to be in that way cuz, if you give me time to think about it . . . :)
