Purpose: To talk about what old broards talk about.

And speaking of highly touted new tv shows
Did anyone watch Game of Thrones? I was drawn in by it, yet also surprised by what a boob-fest the first episode was. If I may quote Steve Martin, "there must've been 57 tits..."
There were way more than 57. I think there is probably a good story hidden-although nothing else is-somewhere in there. I'll watch at least one more episode, I think.
I plan to catch the first episode this weekend. I'm not much into fantasy, but HBO does a pretty good job with most shows, so worth a look. I'm excited because Breaking Bad and the The Big C will be back this summer. We're also watching Nurse Jackie. Also, the eye dr. told me I need reading glasses. (Where was the segue? There wasn't one. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I realized that all the young'uns who were hanging out on the shelf circa 1998 were calling us "housewives" and "old," and now, they're just as old as we were. The joke's on them! Now someone's taunting them online. The circle goes round, and round. Did you see that A Visit From the Goon Squad won a bunch of awards? I read it last week and loved it.)
We don't have HBO but I've read some good things about the show. -- "I realized that all the young'uns who were hanging out on the shelf circa 1998 were calling us "housewives" and "old," and now, they're just as old as we were." Some who said they were young, were old IRL . . . some who were young said they were old
Ha! I still remember this extremely cranky curmudgeon that hung around a lot in my earliest Shelf days. His name was LordBob42, and he was given to monosyllabic responses and general surliness.
Like everyone else, I assumed he was, well, 42! Later I got to know him a little better and found out that he was a 16 year old kid!
I think there's a lesson there about the internet, somewhere!

Haven't seen it. Don't watch HBO much.

I never got the point of Breaking Bad. Hubs watches it.

Ha, Emma. You're probably right. Who knows who was really there? Or really real?

Verb, that made me snort
That was funny even though it's true. :)
Friend Verbie,
I remember when we found out that Agnes was not really a 16 year old girl with brain cancer, but was actually a forty year old man named David.....
Oh, and back to the original topic, I think Breaking Bad may well be the best thing on tv.
