Why on earth would a woman (Barbara Bush) show her teen-aged son (Dubya) a jar containing her miscarried fetus? What the hell?

I don't know what would compel her to save such a thing, but it does explain a lot about GWB's jarring (ha ha) personality. If you're ever interested, Curtis Sittenfeld's novel American Wife takes some of the biographical facts of George and Laura and turns them into something else. In the novel, the Barbara Bush-based character is an awful, awful person.

I had a zoology professor who had an approx. 5 month fetus in a jar on his desk in formalin. It was his baby (his wife's lost pregnancy). Yes, I felt it bizarre, but hey, it was his to do with as he saw fit, right?

Why in the world would you keep such a thing?

when i had my tonsils, uvula and later gallbladder out, they wouldn't let me donate them to my science teacher. apparently, they're "donated" (sold) to med schools for med students to dissect. if they're making a profit off my body parts, they could at least waive the copay....

Was this jar round upon the ground? Did it make a slovenly wilderness upon that hill?

I've often wondered the horrible why and what of the Stevens' jar.

Ded, I think it made a slovenly wilderness of the president's mind.

So good to see you popping up.

All it took was a fetus in a jar to bring Ded back?
