Thanks, all. He's sort of surfaced. We can see that he added friends to his Facebook account a couple of hours ago so, we're assuming that means he's okay. :)
Yeah, that's what I figured -- getting home will be interesting. We've talked to him. They felt it but everything is okay where he is. He's in Niseko skiing.
@Sonya -- he's home! Thanks for asking. Just spoke with him today. He was tired so didn't get all the details but he made it to somewhere that was actually near the power plants but they didn't stay -- they got away as soon as they could.
I can't believe how awful it is. The amazing thing is, they say that Japan was probably best suited to handle this type of disaster given their strict buildin codes, etc., and that the devastation would have been much worse anywhere else -- so hard to imagine.
