Ok, don't laugh but...
I am trying to find the Today sponge or another contraceptive like this and I swear, I can't find it anywhere around here or online. I can't use hormonal birth control anymore and I'd like to have an option other than condoms, so if you know of a place either online or otherwise that sells them, please let me know. Thanks gals! (and Ded) :)

I did a search and while there are some on ebay but I think they must be old stock, it would appear its not back on the market yet.You could opt for a cap instead , you know what they say if the cap fits you wont get pregnant. I also found a page saying make your own contraceptive sponge but its early in the morning here and I couldn't face it
of course all that spermicide might put him off going down .........
After recovering from the post from Alex (which included spewing Diet Coke all over my Mac, how about the new Inova-or whatever it's called-being advertised on TV? Seems like it's some sort of ring which works like an IUD. But what do I know? I haven't had the need for contraception advise for a l-o-o-n-g time.

It's been a lonnnng time since I've had to use anything (we got Richard fixed after the birth of our daughter, who is now in college), but we were using vaginal suppositories. You put it in, wait 20 minute (before putting Tab A into Slot B), and then have at it. We called it the Silver Bullet... : )
Alex, the taste of spermacide is a big reason I don't want to use a supository (sp) but I was hoping the sponges wouldn't be as bad. I certainly don't want to disuade him from going downtown! ;)

Ok. No hormones. Do you plan on having children? If so, you can just move along now...but...
Tubal ligation? I understand that the ligation can be reversed in the future if your plans change, but I have no idea of the success rate of the reversal.
the inova thinbg is like the BCP patch, but you place it in the vagina. the bcp patch caused skin cancer, so i'd be worried about the ring....
why not get an iud? diseases don't seem to be your big worry, just kids. they can always take the iud out if you don't want it or need it anymore.

Yeah, I was thinking of a diaphram or an IUD, I may go that way. Gail, I am not planning on having kids so tubal is something I'd think about, I just would rather not have more surgery if I can avoid it :)

My ligation was done with two tiny tiny incisions...but I can see why you don't want any more surgeries.
