Do you think Caroline Kennedy should be appointed to fill Hilly's seat, should Hilly be appointed Secretary of State? She's a good writer and do-gooder, but I'm on the fence as to her political ambitions.
we didn't vote kathleen kennedy into office, and i think it was one of the smarter moves the voting public in my state has ever made. kathleen showed us that she was completely unable to relate to anyone in the state at all and led to the first repulican in a generation being elected. not sure about caroline and NY.
She's incredibly bright and would make a good asset in the Senate. Since she would have to run in two years, it would give people in NY a chance to see if they like her or not.
I'd say yes, she's likely as qualified as any other appointed or even elected candidate. She will have to face election at some point. But as Ted once suggested to Mary Jo, we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
