I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who hasn't taken down my Xmas decorations. I was determined to do it over the new year weekend but . . . didn't. :)
Sue has a hard time each year when the tree comes down. (We did it yesterday.) It's like pulling the tubes on a dying relative, she reports. Maybe not the closest family member, one you generally approved of but always desired and hoped a little more from. It's time for them to go but it's clear, too, they didn't always live up to their potential. Yet on the other hand, maybe it was you that didn't bring out their best. (Sue tends to get a bit sensitive and loquacious this time of year.)
Anyway, good bye, Xmas tree. Maybe next year we'll do better by your cousin.
