It's the rainiest Monday EVER in Southern California. Just sheets of rain, and crazy wind.

I took Hallie to lunch today. Crazy drivers spinning out right and left, an accident every couple of miles. People in California lose their minds when it rains!

I have a pot roast in the crockpot, a fire in the fireplace and a murder mystery on the end table. So I'm set.

Verbie, do you still have your Element? Have you seen the new GORGEOUS light blue color you can get now? If I had a garage (and a house) to keep a car nice, I'd trade in my beautiful tangerine metallic Element and get the blue......sooooo purdy.

And I had a fantastic Monday.

I haven't seen it yet, Jenny, but I have been really daydreaming about getting a new Element! (And OF COURSE I still have it!)

I got mine in 2005, so it's five years old! That means I DESERVE a new one, right?

we've been having a chat about getting a minivan here. It's hard to do anything with my niece, nephew, and daughter because kids have to stay in car seats until they're ages 10-11ish here, and three car seats won't fit in the back of a car without a lot of cussing and praying, and usually, they still won't all fit. Many of the SUV's won't hold three car seats either. I'm not sure if a minivan is a reality for us, since there's nothing wrong with either of our cars and we haven't had a car payment in years, but i can dream, right?

Oh Verbie.....if you get the pretty light blue Element, will you post and tell me all about it? Ahhhhhh. Oh oh oh, and there is an actual tent that you can buy for them now. I have the tent that protrudes off the end of the vehicle, but this tent does that PLUS extends down to the ground. SWEEEET!

My Element is 4 years old, has survived 2 hail storms and numerous door dings and paint scratches, and has almost 80,000 miles on it. I can't wait to pay it off and put that extra money in the bank or in my Roth IRA or 401(k).

Yes you deserve a new car!
Jilly, you deserve one as well. But I do see your point that it's better not to have a car payment. Well, it's wiser at least...not sure if it's better or not with the kiddo situation.

Do NOT buy a light blue car. I'm tellin' ya now. My very first car was a beeeeyooootiful light blue and it was hit 5 times in 15 months. The last time it was hit (and finally totalled) I asked the policeman -- purely out of frustration -- what was wrong with people and why did they keep hitting my car. He told me that light blue was the least visible color car on the road.

A couple of years later I told this story to a woman I worked with who had fallen in love with a light blue car and she didn't listen and . . . I ran into her about a year later and she said her car had been hit 4 times in the first year and that everytime it happened . . . she thought of me telling her that story.

You have been warned.

Jilly, look at the GMC Acadia. It has lots of room and it MAY be able to fit in all the car seats. Mine is champagne color and dirt and pollen don't show on it. I love it...

Oh, and plus I can get in and out of the car without killing my knees.
