Just Wondering . . .

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine was reading that self-help book that was really popular -- the one that preached figuring out what you want and envisioning yourself achieving it everyday and that would make it come true. Obviously a bunch of hooey. I think it may help some people stay focused so they remember to do something about certain issues in their lives but, I suspect that's about all the benefit of the book.

However, just in case it's true, if I start envisioning myself married to Keanu Reeves everyday, how long do you think it will take for it to come true?

Ha, Urb. I'd start right now and get the universe in motion.

I don't think Positive Thinking or Visualization is a bunch of hooey. I want to believe in Karma and in whatever you put out there, you will receive.

As far as Keanu is concerned, he may not be putting out hooking up with you as strongly as you're putting it out. Why don't you start slowly . . .like, say, with Pauly Shore or David Hasselhoff or the guy who makes the corned beef at your local deli, and work up to Keanu?

Good luck with that, Girl.

be careful what you wish for.

i prefer positive thinking to negative thinking. the law of attraction is a real thing. i know some people who are constantly negative, and that is exactly what they attract. and, they aren't much fun to be around either.

I believe in karma as well, but that's not what I understood that book to be about. What she was describing was that the visualization will make it come true -- the example she gave was, if you want a great apartment, you visualize exactly what you want and you do that everyday and it will come to you. I don't think the universe works that way. Like I said, I think it helps people figure out what they want and thinking about it everyday would remind you to do something about it but, it's not magic.

That all said . . . now that you mention it, what IF I'm visualizing Keanu as my husband and he's visualizing Pamela Anderson? How does that work? Ha ha ha ha . . .

Or, what if I visualize myself weiging 100 lbs but eat like a pig everyday? That won't work.

i think positive thinking is important. as is goal setting, but i don't think anything will happen to you if you don't DO anything to reach those goals. You can imagine a college degree all you want, but it won't happen if you don't plan and do the work associated with getting one. also, i agree with spidey that some people are negative death traps and they take too much energy being negative. they should come with a warning sigh "caustion, i'm a TAKER! I'll bleed you emotionally dry! and I'll never change, because I don't want a good life, I just want to bitch about having a bad life!"

That said, i'm sure the rest of us will help your positive thinking campaign and karma vibes in regards of wanting to marry keanu.
