Octuplet mom already has SIX

That's right.  That 33 year old Whittier, CA woman who gave birth to the 8 multiples already has SIX CHILDREN aged 2-7.

I'm sure most of you have already read the story, but if you haven't, check this link out.  Amazing. What kind of doctor did this?

i think it is disgusting. how is she going to raise all those kids? no husband or boyfriend is around either right? selfish, selfish woman. and the dr. should be investigated.

I don't think the doctor has the right to withhold this fertility 'treatment', does he?

I don't know what the law says in this case, but common sense says that no one person, or even 1 plus 2 grandparents can appropriately provide for ALL the needs of 14 children.

"Records show that she held a psychiatric technician's license from 1997 to 2002. It was unclear whether she is now employed" She's never going to work again--she'll want a tv show, I'm telling you. Californian taxpayers will be raising her kids

Here's some beautiful gossip: The sperm used to strike the fire of life for all her pregnancies comes from one man, a married police officer whose wife didn't know he was sharing what she might have hoped was hers alone.

In another story, when asked where all the kids would live, Ed, the grandfather, said, "We have another house, much bigger, which you will never find." Or something along those lines.

And yes, the OctoMom is a registered Republican.

A guy called in to confirm that Nadya Suleman, OctoMom, is on welfare. He deduces this because she uses an EBT card (replaced food stamps) and WIC checks, at his market.

There is now a report that OctoMom had a husband but that he took off when she announced she was carrying the current crop.

I'm not so sure, Jenny. I think fertility treatment is elective, and I read that most of those places, like plastic surgeons, offer both financial and emotional counseling to those contemplating the treatments. I'm guessing that if they "pass" the financial "counseling" (that is, if they can pony up the dough) then any other counseling goes out the window.

where i live, the more kids you have, the less money you get from welfare and the government won't cover fertility treatment. this stuff is expensive so i wonder how it was paid for? if it was welfare, they should rethink their system.

moreover, reputable clinics have all sorts of requirements for credit, emotional, mental, and physical health before one can go through treatments or even donate sperm or eggs. Other places don't care as long as the check doesn't bounce AND they'll go ahead and abort or refuse to implant based on gender if the parent wishes. yes that's right, they'll go ahead and get rid of your kid if it's not the sex you had in mind. as if people who are supposedly desperate for a baby should sit and bitch about the sex?

I'm not overly shocked that these people live off the government and vote republican. I'm related to a few hundred republican welfare recipients afterall. They're republican for the "morals" (snort) or some other such cop-out.

I've found that most republican welfare recipients justify it by excusing their need of services and denying other people's need by dehumanizing the other people and stating why they in fact have a greater need or are more deserving. this is why i refuse to talk about anything political with anyone i'm related to.

From The Times of London:

"Nadya Suleman, 33, plans a career as a television childcare expert after it emerged last week that she already had six children before giving birth on Monday. She now has 14 below the age of eight.

"Although still confined to an LA hospital bed, she intends to talk to two influential television hosts this week — media mogul Oprah Winfrey, and Diane Sawyer, who presents Good Morning America."

Jilly, I was joking about Nadya being a Republican. I have no idea what her politics are. As a single mother with six kids under the age of eight, how could she have time to think about politics or be political?
