summer reading

Because I promised myself i'd do nothing but care for my child this summer, i've spent a lot of time reading stuff i actually want to read and here are some from this week.
(raiting 1 to 5 with 5 as the highest)

"Come On, People" by bill cosby and alvin poussaint 5
"A People's History of the United Stated 1492-present" by howard zinn 4
"The no-cry potty training solution" by elizabeth pantley 2
"Garden Spells" by Sarah Addison Allen 5
this last one reminded me of Emma and I think she'd like it.

I read the "potato peel pie society" book and loved it, my best friend has it and i don't think i'll be getting it back. I'm going to make another bookstore trip this weekend and see what i can find then. besides verb's zombie book, what's good to get?

I just read the synopsis of Garden Spells-=--sounds really good!

I bought the book but couldn't get into Potato Pie Society, maybe I'll give it another go.

What's summer without reading??

After reading several "heavy" books in a row, I'm reading the lighter stuff right now.

-The Fixer-Upper-Mary Kay Andrews
-Doomsday Key-James Rollins
-Certain Girls-Weiner (or Wiener)
-East of The Sun
-Road Dogs-Elmore Leonard
-Return to Sullivan's Island-Dorthea Benton Frank

Those ought to get you started.

Try The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. If you like it, the sequel's coming out soon.

I am reading My Booky Wook by Russell Brand and it's very good, I'm just being lazy about finishing it.

Tree: Loved The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The sequel is out on 7/28. Looking forward to it.

emma, the book is about plant magic in the lives of these sisters and at the end, she gives you a list of what specific plants will do for you when you eat them.

gail, i loved "good in bed" but hated "in her shoes" so i've been scared to try another weiner.

tree, you've never been wrong before, so i'll look into the tattoo book.

thanks you great broards

"so i've been scared to try another weiner"

Funny!

If you've seen one weiner, you've seen them all.

A couple of books I've read recently:

Fool, Christopher Moore -- I really enjoyed this. Thought it was one of his best.

I Smile Back, Amy Koppleman -- Pointless. Lousy. Pretentious.

Assassination Vacation, Sarah Vowell -- I really enjoyed this.

The Painted Veil, W. Somerset Maughm -- I liked this one very much.

Angle's Game was good. I just finished the new James Rollins and am now reading the new Brad Thor-The Apostle. I'm really looking forward to Pat Conroy's newest (out in late July or Aug).
