the debate

so what did you think? did you watch?

my opinion... john mccain is very disrespectful to obama. he called him "this one" and made smirking laughing faces when obama was taking his turn to speak. at one point, while obama was speaking it looked like mccain was strolling around the floor, campaigning.
mccain keeps speaking about obama being inexperienced and unqualified. yet he chooses a moron as his running mate who hasn't a clue and has no experience other than being governor and she probable isn't qualified for that.

"this one"
a step away from "you people"

The age difference was really evident: Obama looked lean and strong. McCain looked bent and fragile. All he needed was a cane flailing in the air and shouting, "You young hooligans! Stay offa my lawn!!"

LOL, Emma! Hallie and I listened on our way home from the airport (we've been visiting Grandma and Ian.) She remarked, "Geez, McCain sounds like Grandpa Simpson."

Did you stay tuned after while the candidate's wives came out into the arena? If so, did you notice Michelle Obama working the room and Cyndi McCain hiding behind John like she didn't want to mix with the riff or the raff? And what's up with that pin she wears that says (I think) "Navy wife"? She's no more a Navy wife since she married the guy after the fact than I am since Dennis was in the Air Force from 1958-1962.

On the debate, I didn't really hear anything new from either one although I thought Obama came off much better than the old guy. McCain's use of the phrase "My friends" reminds me of LBJ and his "my fellow Amuricans"-with LBJ you could be sure that whatever came next was either a. we'd just bombed another country in SE Asia, or b. a lie. I feel the same about McOldGuy.

Gail,
I noticed that about Michelle and Cindy too!

whatever your views are, the Obamas are really "people" people and enjoy the handshaking thing. That's what you have to do to get electerd--you have to be approachable and friendly.

Cindy looked very uncomfortable and looked to get the Hell out of Dodge!
