anger optimism and the price of fish

is it me or are people angry about everything these days Do you get angry about stuff that in the great scheme of things really doesn't matter any more than the price of cod ten years ago?Are you an angry optimist or a mellow pessimist ?

I try to be optimistic but health issues are beginning to destroy my good mood. But I have noticed an increase in anger across the board.

I'm naturally cheerful. I will have a small explosion of irrational anger now and then, but it passes quickly.

I used to be hopelessly cheerful and optimistic, but anymore I find that I'm pessimistic and bitter. I wish I could change back.

It's odd that you posted that . . . Just this past weekend I told my husband that I needed to be nicer. I get irritated too easily. It aint good.

since today was the start of my summer and being a stay-at-home mom, i've been great. i understand why anger is high, people are worried and upset and hearing a lot of bad news. I know i wasn't always happy to be around this year working with that awful woman. it's one of the reasons i let my blog go. some bitching is okay, but when it's all you do, it's time to do something else.

You know what, Mum,, I think a lot of it is the company that I keep. When I am with happy folks (at a pig show) I am one happy optimistic camper and have great fun, even when I am losing. When I am with folks who are demanding or snipey, I can get that way real fast back at them. I was a very patient mother, but I have pretty much used up a lot of that patience which translates into I would simply rather do things myself than ask for help,, just get the hell out of my way sort of thing :). My wv is funwar- which it can be at times. Getting righteous every so often can be a good thing. Gail, I truly do feel your pain. My afternoon cocktail has become 800 mg of advil taken promptly at 4.

I tend to be an aggressive, quick to anger person. I've been working on this, esp since the whole cancer thing and I think I'm getting better. I know, rationally, that most things just aren't worth getting all het up about, but sometimes it's easier said than done. I do think people are quick to anger lately, but hopefully we'll all start to feel some optimism as the economy improves...

I'm genetically optimistic however I've noticed lately that my tolerance for stupidity and incompetence is much lower than normal and I get testy when I encounter severe instances of either.
